Ancient art of Sardinia

In Sardinia, a land of extensive pastures and large sheep flocks, weaving has undoubtedly been one of the most ancient activities within household economy.
Now it is one of the driving forces of Sardinian craftsmanship, where a century-old tradition has joined modern creativity to generate one of the most distinct marks of the so-called Sardinian 'identity', i.e. a unique set of features belonging to a people and allowing to identify it immediately.
In the diversified world of contemporary Sardinian craftsmanship, items once used as essential tools in daily tasks have turned into little masterpieces, created by looms to convey the colours, weaves and symbols of popular imagination.
